Some of Specter's best work! With the excitement of a bootcamp competition that feels like the Hunger Games and the additional sizzle of a secret romance, this book moves at a steady pace. The mystery of the pregnancy and looming threat of those who would use the knowledge of it for gain creates an air of tension. I really liked that we saw everything from Issac's POV since we had a gay-for-you angle. The way that played out was really believable and even the pregnancy felt realistic (with the usual suspension of disbelief). It felt like a longer, fuller story than the page count would lead you to believe. It was unusual to see an omega who was "all man" instead of the tiny, twinky character that we usually see. All in all, a lot to recommend this one!Product details

I really wanted to like this story, but in the end I can't give it more than 2.5 stars. It starts off ok, but then the story gets weaker and weaker. The text itself is riddled with missing words, poor grammar, and incorrect vocabulary (ie "ravished" used to describe intense hunger. I think the writer meant "ravenous") There were also so many holes in the plot it felt like the writer was just trying to get to the end and didn't care about weaving a tight story. And a little fact checking/research is appreciated. For instance, the travel time between Seattle and Billings is way more than "several hours" and there are no "skyscrapers" in Billings. Google it.
The plot was a little hard get at first but as story went better, it could be a little longer.

4.0 stars. I liked this book. It wasn't what I expected, but in a good way. A good plot and engaging MCs.
Great read the writer knows how to write and keep a reader held in suspense. The characters are both likeable and unlikeable in many cases but all characters are full of surprises you never see coming and you should be surprised and ready for a great little book.
This is a book that has a fascinating storyline as well as some interesting characters. Isaac Ward enters the trials for a chance at being turned into a werewolf. Ryan is the Alpha and his mate. Ward is conflicted, he has never been attracted to men and is confused about mating. Well-written and fascinating romance. Looking forward to reading more by this wonderful author.
I have been intrigued by the idea of an omega and how he would integrate in a pack structure...as well as how a dominant personality could become omega...This story addresses both of those ideas, as well as how empowering such a relationship could be. I enjoyed this book thoroughly, and will definitely be looking for more! Thanks for a great read, Wolf...keep 'em coming!
